The June 2010 issue of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers has arrived, and DBYD Attorneys continue to be well represented among the top attorneys in the State. Three of our partners have been named as Super Lawyers: Frank R. Bartle, Esquire, Mark B. Dischell, Esquire, and John T. Dooley, Esquire. In addition, three of our associates have been named as rising stars: Elizabeth J. Billies, Esquire, Brian Jason Ford, Esquire, and Robert J. Iannozzi, Jr., Esquire.
Super Lawyers are selected through a three-phase process which consists of the creation of a candidate pool, evaluation of candidates by the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers research department, and review of candidates by their peers within their primary practice area. A lawyer becomes part of the candidate pool when he or she is nominated, whether formally or informally, or as a result of being identified by the research department in their “Star Search” process. The ensuing evaluations are based upon twelve indicators of peer recognition, ethical standards and professional achievement. Up to five percent of lawyers in the State are named as Super Lawyers.
Rising Stars are up-and-coming attorneys who are forty years old or younger or who have been practicing for ten years or less. They enter the candidate pool through the same process as Super Lawyer candidates and are subjected to evaluation by the Super Lawyers research department. Peer review is not a part of the process in the selection of Rising Stars. No more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the State are named as Rising Stars.
The Super Lawyers Selection Process is widely recognized for its sophistication in identifying “a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel.” For more information about Super Lawyers, please visit superlawyers.com.
