*The term “Super Lawyer” and variations on that term indicate a peer designation by the publication Law & Politics, which has since 2004 published a list of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers in Philadelphia Magazine.  Lawyers designated as Super Lawyers are named after over 36,000 ballots are mailed to Pennsylvania lawyers who have been in practice at least five years.  Those ballots ask lawyers to name the best lawyers they have personally observed.  After receiving the list of names a blue ribbon panel is formed to review the reputation and professional record of each lawyer.  Super Lawyers then are chosen by the panel from that group of nominees.  The designation is an honor although it does not constitute an official or quasi-official certification of a practice specialty.
